Exhausted | Episode 32
Emma walked through the door, exhausted and frustrated. She had spent most of the day at the hospital waiting to hear any news on Franklin’s condition. Hospital personnel is not so great when the person you are trying to find out about isn’t a relative. It had definitely been a long long day. She shut the door and leaned against it, closed her eyes and just breathed in deeply. It was nice to be home again even if there was this odd feeling in her stomach that told her that something was not right, just out of place, but of course, she knew that what was wrong was that Jason was not ever coming home again. She pushed away and resolved herself to getting food and a shower. She felt a film over her body that had a lot more to do with her thoughts, the time at the hospital, and the events of the last few days.
She walked into the kitchen and looked in the fridge. There was nothing there that seemed like it was edible anymore. She looked at the pantry, and couldn’t see anything that she would want to eat. She looked at the fridge again and saw the takeout menu for a Chinese place that delivered. She picked up the phone and ordered her favorite item from the menu in hopes it would entice her appetite. After she ordered she went back into the living room and collapsed on the couch and fell apart for, what seemed like, the twentieth time that day.
Soon after she could gather herself a knock came at the door. Her food was here, and as she opened the door she smelled the food and realized just how hungry she actually was.
