Overload | Episode 27
Emma folded her arms and shivered in the hot sun. She hadn’t known quite why she decided to stop by Franklin’s house on the way into town, she supposed it was because he had always been so kind to her and she admitted she was a little worried about him since Jason wasn’t going to be around any longer, but she was glad that she had stopped by to check in on him otherwise he could have been.... She didn’t want to finish the thought and turned her attention to the ambulance pulling away and speeding down the street towards the hospital. She hoped she had made it in time, and that Franklin was going to be ok. She didn’t want to lose a second person this week whether it was their own fault or not.
There was also the problem with Marianne. “Why did she have to do that?” she asked herself as she started walking to the car. She really enjoyed hanging out with Marianne, it was just so simple, and normal. Normal was something that hadn’t been in her life for such a long time it was hard enough to deal with normal, then Marianne had leaned in and kissed her after breakfast yesterday. She wasn’t sure that she felt that way about Marianne, but she knew that it wasn’t the right time, which is exactly what she had told Marianne after she pushed her away abruptly. Her eyes welled up with tears as she thought about the last couple of days. She was on overload and couldn’t see which way was up at the moment. There were just too many things going on.
She got into her car and headed home, she was going to take a bath and try to relax. She thought about going to the hospital to see Frankie but realized that they would only admit family right now if he was even alive right now...and with that thought, she started sobbing.
