Nothing Left

by Mark Mangum
I would like to say that there was nothing left
but even the darkness needs company
So leave me to this shade that you have become
and let me dwell within the dark glow
of the rifts in my pages
Let night open up to swallow me
and pass you by
So that I may be with the one I loved
The beauty of starless skies will always be misunderstood
but as you stand under the darkened heavens
I will watch you from the moon
Knowing you have nothing left
And that I have everything I could have ever wanted
Too late for you to apologize and come crawling back
I no longer care for you
There is only room left for the darkness
and the company it gave me
